You will have to be of a certain age to remember The Fast Show, but for those of us who were around when it aired, it was one of the funniest things on TV. Some of the catch phrases and characters are still referenced today, such was the impact of Paul Whitehouse, Mark Williams, and co.
Well, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the hit comedy sketch show series, a tour called An Evening with the Fast Show is hitting theatres across the UK, and on the 4th of November, it will be at Portsmouth Guildhall.
This isn’t just a chance to see the original cast repeating the same old material, but a funny and insightful walk down memory lane, where you will learn all sorts of behind the scenes info and hear stories from the creation of the show.
Simon Day, Charlie Higson, John Thomson, Paul Whitehouse, Mark Williams and Arabella Weir will all be there, discussing how they came up with such characters as:
- Suits You Sir
- Ted and Ralph
- The Competitive Dad
- Does My Bum Look Big in This
- Rowley Birkin (Very very drunk)
- Unlucky Alf (Oh bugger)
- and others
They will be doing skits as well (no need for ageing make up these days!), but this evening will be much more than a performance. It’s a celebration of the show and the laughter it brought to millions of living rooms around the country.
