The Portsmouth Chilli and Gin festival is back for 2025, and it promises to be the spiciest one yet.
The weird but wonderful festival enjoyed a successful launch in 2022 but has grown since then, and this year it promises all manner of crazy entertainment, alongside some more traditional events like live music and games.
The festival takes place on the 28th and 29th of June, but each day is a little different.
- Saturday: Chilli and Gin Day – Chilli eating competition plus live pop and dance music
- Sunday: Chicken (& vegan) Wing Day – Spicey chicken wings eating competition plus battle of the bands
Saturday will also see League of Fire Road Match champion, Annee Boyer, attempt the world’s longest habanero kiss. This is an official World Record attempt people!
Both days will also include things like gin masterclasses, cocktail making demos, family entertainment like inflatables and face painting, adult activities, plus loads of traders selling gifts, home wear, craft gins, and international foods.
It’s a lively, flavour packed celebration of all things spicey and botanical, where people can come for a chilled time and plenty of laughs in the lovely scenic outdoor setting of Fort Purbrook Activity Centre.
Ticketed Event

The Chilli and Gin Festival is a ticketed event, but you get an awful lot for your money once you are inside.
Ticket prices are as follows:
- Saturday – Adult £11.50 / Family £29.50 / Child (11-17) £5.50
- Sunday – Adult £10.50 / Family £27.50 / Child (11-17) £4.50
Sunday is a little cheaper as it is a more laid back festival day, and kids under 11 go free.
In reality it will cost more than this because you will probably want to buy things when you’re there, a few drinks and some food at least, but it’s a pretty cheap family day out all things considered. Take cash though, as there are no ATMs onsite.
Cocktail masterclasses will also need to be booked in advance as they have limited capacity. They cost £13 per person, but you get two cocktails worth £19 as part of that, so they are basically paying you to take part.
Parking is available on site for £3.50, and dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead (and way from the chillies!)
