Ross Noble: Cranium of Curiosities – New Theatre Royal, 22nd and 23rd November

If you fancy a bit of mad cap humour, delivered by one of the country’s most experienced comedians with a gift for improvisation and reputation for the surreal, you need to get down to the New Theatre Royal on the 22nd or 223rd of November.

Why? because Ross Noble will be in town with his tour of Cranium of Curiosities, and if the reviews are anything to go by, it’s going to be absolutely hilarious and baffling at the same time.

That’s the thing with Ross Noble. No two shows he does are ever the same. They aren’t written like so many other comics’ are, they are heavily riffed, usually with the audience. There is seldom any meaning or political message either, which is refreshing in today’s world of constantly being beaten over the head with everybody else’s opinions. This is just comedy for comedy’s sake.

His own blurb calls him, “the Wizard of Waffle, The Rambler Royale, The Noodlers’ Noodler”, and having seen him live myself, I can tell you that this is a pretty accurate description!

It’s hard to write about the show because what it will contain is anybody’s guess – even Ross Noble doesn’t really know yet.

Tickets

See above for an idea of what to expect.

While his comedy might be confusingly brilliant, the ticket pricing is not: you can expect to pay £34 for a ticket to see the show regardless f where you sit.

Sight lines are fine from everywhere in the theatre, and it’s not so big that you won’t be able to see what’s going on on stage, even the seats at the back don’t feel miles away.

They recommend the show is suitable for 15+ only, probably because there will be some swearing, but in my experience, Ross rarely gets vulgar.

The show starts at 8:00pm, and while it probably does have a scheduled ending time, Ross is unlikely to stick to it.
